Washington Elite Student Passes Senior Moves in the Field

Emme and Bruce Porter, Jr. and Sergey Korovin are proud to announce that Elizabeth Burst “Lizzy Burst” has passed her Senior Moves in the Field.  Lizzy is a student of the Washington Elite Skating School.  She practices daily at Kettler Capitals Iceplex in Arlington VA.

We attended the Richmond Skating Club Test session on May 12, 2010.  Lizzy skated each move beautifully with grace, power and extension, even receiving above passing scores.

Lizzy is a Senior at Bishop O’Connel High School and will graduate this spring.  She plans to attend the University of Miami Ohio this fall where she will try out for their RedHawk Senior Synchronized Skating Team.

Moves in the field is a name given to elements of figure skating that emphasize basic skating skills and edge control.  The U.S. Figure Skating Association requires each skater to pass a Moves in the Field test, as well as a free skating or free dance test, in order to qualify for the various levels of competition. The skater must perform each field move in the specified pattern while demonstrating adequate power, quickness, edge control, and extension throughout the pattern to be accepted into the level.  Senior is the highest level.
